Piling & Foundation Works

Strong Foundations for Lasting Structures

GTGABOD provides specialist piling and foundation solutions designed to safely transfer structural loads into the ground and provide reliable support for the structures built above.

Every site presents a different combination of soil conditions, groundwater, structural loads and construction constraints. Our approach is therefore centred on selecting and executing foundation solutions appropriate to the specific engineering requirements of each project.

Our piling and foundation capabilities support residential, commercial, industrial, institutional and infrastructure developments.

01

Driven Piles

Driven piles are prefabricated structural elements installed into the ground using specialist piling equipment until the required depth or bearing resistance is achieved.

The system is particularly suitable where weak or compressible soils occur near the surface, and structural loads must be transferred to deeper, more competent ground.

GTGABOD provides driven piling solutions for applications including:

  • Multi-storey developments
  • Commercial buildings
  • Industrial facilities
  • Warehouses
  • Bridges and infrastructure
  • Marine and waterfront structures
  • Heavily loaded foundations

Driven piles can provide high load-carrying capacity, rapid installation and consistent pile quality while generating relatively little excavated soil.

02

Bored Piles

Bored piles are cast-in-situ reinforced concrete piles constructed by drilling a cylindrical shaft into the ground, installing reinforcement and placing concrete to form the completed pile.

Because soil is removed during installation rather than substantially displaced, bored piling is particularly useful where large foundation capacities are required or where vibration around neighbouring structures needs to be controlled.

Bored piling can be applied to:

  • High-rise developments
  • Commercial complexes
  • Industrial structures
  • Public buildings
  • Bridges
  • Infrastructure projects
  • Sites close to existing structures

Large pile diameters and substantial depths can be achieved depending on the design and ground conditions.

03

Continuous Flight Auger (CFA Piles)

Continuous Flight Auger piling provides an efficient cast-in-situ foundation solution with relatively low noise and vibration.

A continuous hollow-stem auger is drilled into the ground to the required depth. Concrete is pumped through the auger stem as the auger is gradually withdrawn, forming a continuous concrete pile. Reinforcement is then installed into the freshly placed concrete.

CFA piling is particularly suitable for:

  • Commercial developments
  • Residential developments
  • Industrial facilities
  • Urban construction sites
  • Sites near existing buildings
  • Projects where vibration needs to be minimised

The method offers rapid installation while avoiding the need to leave a completely open borehole during construction.

04

Micropiles

Micropiles are small-diameter, high-capacity drilled and grouted piles reinforced with structural steel.

Their relatively compact installation requirements make them particularly useful where access, working space or headroom is restricted.

Micropiles can also be installed around or through existing structures, making them an effective solution for foundation strengthening and underpinning.

Applications include:

  • Foundation strengthening
  • Underpinning
  • Building extensions
  • Existing structure rehabilitation
  • Restricted-access sites
  • Low-headroom construction
  • Difficult ground conditions
05

Sheet Piling

Sheet piles are interlocking structural sections installed vertically into the ground to create continuous retaining or earth-support systems.

They are particularly valuable where excavation support, soil retention or groundwater control is required.

Sheet piling applications include:

  • Basement excavations
  • Retaining walls
  • Cofferdams
  • Waterfront developments
  • Marine works
  • Bridge works
  • Flood-control structures
  • Temporary excavation support

Sheet pile walls may form temporary construction works or permanent elements of a completed development.

06

Foundation Construction

GTGABOD's foundation capability extends beyond piling to the reinforced concrete and substructure elements that connect the building to the ground.

Pad Foundations

Individual reinforced concrete foundations constructed beneath columns and other concentrated structural loads.

Strip Foundations

Continuous foundations constructed beneath load-bearing walls or closely spaced structural elements.

Combined Foundations

Reinforced concrete foundations designed to support multiple columns where project geometry or loading makes separate foundations impractical.

Raft / Mat Foundations

Large reinforced concrete slabs that distribute structural loads across a substantial portion of the building footprint.

Pile Caps

Reinforced concrete elements constructed over individual piles or pile groups to distribute loads from the superstructure into the piling system.

Ground Beams

Structural beams connecting foundation elements and transferring wall or column loads across the substructure.

Our associated works may also include:

  • Reinforcement installation
  • Formwork
  • Concrete placement
  • Pile trimming and preparation
  • Column bases and pedestals
  • Tie beams
  • Foundation walls
  • Basement substructures
07

Retaining & Excavation Support

Where site development requires deep excavation or significant changes in ground level, GTGABOD can provide foundation and earth-retaining solutions appropriate to the project requirements.

Solutions may include:

  • Sheet pile retaining walls
  • Reinforced concrete retaining walls
  • Excavation support
  • Basement retaining structures
  • Temporary earth-retention systems
08

Foundation Strengthening & Remedial Works

Existing buildings may require additional foundation support because of redevelopment, increased structural loading, settlement or deterioration.

Depending on the condition of the structure and the ground beneath it, foundation-strengthening solutions can include:

  • Micropile underpinning
  • Piled underpinning
  • Reinforced concrete underpinning
  • Foundation extensions
  • Foundation strengthening
  • Remedial foundation works

Investigate. Build. Maintain.

Built From the Ground Up

A successful structure depends on the foundation beneath it. GTGABOD combines practical construction experience with specialist foundation capability to deliver foundation systems appropriate to the structural requirements and ground conditions of each project.

From piling and pile caps to reinforced concrete foundations and excavation support, our focus is on creating stable, durable foundations for the structures built above them.
